UN 1075
UN 1075 — petroleum gases, liquefied
UN 1075 is liquefied petroleum gas, placarded as a class 2.1 flammable gas.
UN 1075 is petroleum gases, liquefied — the LPG family, including propane and butane mixtures shipped under that number. The placard is class 2.1, a flammable gas.
This is one of the most common four-digit numbers on North American tank cars. The car is a pressure tank. The reporting mark is often a private owner, a lessor, or a petroleum shipper, which is a separate fact from the placard. TILX or UTLX tells you about the equipment. 1075 tells you about the load.
1075 is not gasoline. Gasoline is UN 1203, a class 3 liquid, and it rides in a different kind of tank. If the middle of the diamond says 1075, say LPG, not "fuel."
Identification only. If a car is leaking or in a wreck, move away and call your local emergency number. Responders use the Emergency Response Guidebook. This page is not that book.
